True to its editorial review, this book is beautifully drawn and presents a surreal world and mythology to the Western mind. If you like cuteness, if you like charming, if you like playful idiosyncrasy, if you like heartbreaks that lead characters into long personal journeys, you'll find much to like in this story.Product details

This was a much longer comic/manga than I'm used to reading, but that's good in my opinion! I can normally finish one volume in an hour or less, but this one took me about an hour and a half. The artwork is very well done, but there's not really a lot of emphasis on the individual characters' personalities. It could be given a lot more depth and insight into the protagonist's mindset, but the author chose to forego that in favor of getting to the "meaty parts". The dialogue does leave a bit to be desired (I got kind of annoyed after having Misty Rain say "The Great King of Darkness" about five times in a row), and some things just made me go "whaaa?" Maybe the author was going for clever anachronisms, but it just seemed to be forgetfullness in my view. I hope that the next volume will improve on dialogue and focus a bit more on the characters themselves rather than hurrying to get to the funny stuff. Other than those criticisms, I did greatly enjoy this volume and would suggest it to my friends. I look forward to getting the next one!
Little cute girls causing trouble. This comic is actually a little bit sad, but it's not so depressing where you feel like quitting the comic. It's serious, but not too serious. It has it's parts with humor as well.
